Cash Advanced Location Kept My Check!!?
okay so this is what happend. I got a check from pay pal from selling some items on ebay. i just had a baby and im currently not working so this was my only way to get money to ensure that my son gets his food and diapers.
banks would not cash my check if i did not have a bank account with them so i went into this cash advance place that cashes checks.
they acted like they were cashing my check up until she gave me my receipt and tells me that she is not giving me my money that i owe them money from a previous cash advanced.
I do not remember EVER taking out a cash advance. she has proof but i honestly dont belive i have ever done one. and the location she said it was done it is like a little over and hour away from where i live and i have lived here my whole life and never even done a cash advanced.
i now have no money to ship people their items on ebay and no money for gas or to get my son what he needs.
this lady was very heartless. said she couldnt even just give me the check

Contact the better business bureau, they might have something to say. Is it possible you had your identity stolen? You should check out and credit cards or other stuff to make sure. Good luck.
go to the police and tell them what happened because the storestole your check, no matter what proofs she has.
But honestly you were very innocent and sily at the same time to receive that receipt with no money in your hand.

Did you ask to see the evidence that she had showing your debt to her company. Was there more debt outstanding because it would be very strange if your cheque equalled the amount of the debt. So either you still owe them money or they owe you the balance. You have a right to see the evidence of any transaction made through your name. Maybe someone has got hold of your details so you will have to check with who ever handles your banking to see if any one is using your account. Go back and demand to see over manager not the desk clerk in the cash advance place. Good luck
