    THIS IS A SCAM!
They send you a check that is no good, but you send them a money gram that you pay for with cash.
Have nothing further to do with the individual, report the contact to the moderators on Cragslist.

Forward all correspondence to the FBIs Internet Crime center http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx and if you receive a check, contact your local FBI field office and give the check to themhttp://www.fbi.gov/contact/fo/fo.htm
You do not want to get caught with a fake check or you will be the one arrested for fraud

Don’t even touch it. I have seen a Scam Exactly like this on a tv progam. THIS IS A SCAM..I copy this info from craigslist website for you. They have a section on avoiding scams.
    * DEAL LOCALLY WITH FOLKS YOU CAN MEET IN PERSON – follow this one simple rule and you will avoid 99% of the scam attempts on craigslist.
    * NEVER WIRE FUNDS VIA WESTERN UNION, MONEYGRAM or any other wire service – anyone who asks you to do so is a scammer.
    * FAKE CASHIER CHECKS & MONEY ORDERS ARE COMMON, and BANKS WILL CASH THEM AND THEN HOLD YOU RESPONSIBLE when the fake is discovered weeks later.
    * CRAIGSLIST IS NOT INVOLVED IN ANY TRANSACTION, and does not handle payments, guarantee transactions, provide escrow services, or offer “buyer protection” or “seller certification”
    * NEVER GIVE OUT FINANCIAL INFORMATION (bank account number, social security number, eBay/PayPal info, etc.)
    * AVOID DEALS INVOLVING SHIPPING OR ESCROW SERVICES and know that ONLY A SCAMMER WILL “GUARANTEE” YOUR TRANSACTION.
